TIP OF THE DAY
Sometimes things don't make sense, but that doesn't mean you can't appreciate them. Look at everything unusual and quirky with out judgement then look at the positives before you cast your opinion
MOVING SCULPTURE
A mixture of art, sculpture, puppetry enginering and mathematics, Rueben Margolin's pieces are awe inspiring
DESIGNER WEAPONRY
I like multi-functional and quirky design but I dont think I will have this at home in a hurry. But depending on your neighbourhood it might be just the right thing! Designed by James bauldoff it makes sense he notes one of his past times as biting.

TIP OF THE DAY
The world does not always land at your feet and nor is everything you want to see right before you Look up and change your perspective. Michaelangelo was hoping you would!
PATTERNS GONE RIGHT
This magnificent example of early Modernism at McGregor Memorial conference centre shows how the simplicity of geometrics can make a stunning impact. By keeping the focus on pattern and light and keeping colour simplistic the building may date but will always be impressive.
NOT CALLED A GREAT HALL FOR NOTHING
The Great Hall at the National Gallery Museum in Melbourne is the main entry for the Museum bit is also reserved for functions. Conferences, award nights and weddings are held in this vast space. Leaving the walls and floor empty means the focus on the ceiling cannot be ignored.

TIP OF THE DAY
BECAUSE YOU CAN?
Well, just because you can doesn't mean we all have to endure it! With wealth doesn't always come taste. Dubai, know for its extremes of money and opulence love to scream, "I have an obscene amount of money". Hotels can go down the road of an exquisite place to getaway with restrained class or such as, The Burj Al-Arab hotel shows less really is more. It does have some magical areas such as the changing lights in the vast foyer but this has to go down as pure indulgence of the bad kind.
CALL IT WHAT IT IS
There is no denying the70's played with our minds in many ways and bad interiors are right up there. This European exhibition, Eurobad 74 is celebrating all things bad and gives you a good reason not to go back in a time machine
MAKING IT FUN?
I agree that imagination is needed for all rooms of the house and when a baby is coming you want to think beyond pink and blue, but this is too far! Do you ever want this child to sleep?
The team at making it fun are very proud of their make-over and it was even filmed for a TV show. Watchers have posted and seem to agree but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth - anyone else?

TIP OF THE DAY
It's not always about size. By being smart and creative with your space you can include all the elements for a simple living style. When living in small spaces you need to look at what you collect and hoard as these have no room, even with clever storage. It is about simplifiying your life and only have the necessities on hand.
MIND IF I SQUEEZE IN?
Toronto's 'little' house was built in 1912. The lot was originally a laneway for the next door neighbours but there was no curb for laneway access, so the little-est house was built! The house is now such popular tourist attraction (even though it is still lived in) it even has its own song!
OCEAN VIEW YOU SAID?
by Front Architects gives you the ultimate getaway, of course a water vessel is compulsory. I love a storm by the sea but I think I would sit this one out.

ART BETWEEN YOUR TOES
Dinosour Designs have been making stunning jewellery for years but also do rugs. To me their greatest works are their collaborations with other designers. From the fashion world with Akira Isogawa, and oscar winner in Catherin Martin gives diverse additions to their stockrooms
KEEP IT OUT OF THE TRASH!
What a great idea, may car hoods have ben used as picnic tables and a place to sit when you are parked and Joel Hester has taken it one step further. These car hoods and boots are now functional but I think great art in the room
ART IN UNEXPECTED PLACES
We all have the present tea towel given to us by a relative from their 'exciting' travels. The customary print with the local feature. Third Drawer Down decided to bring art to the kitchen and create hand printed and limited edition tea towels to give an edge to your kitchen.

TIP OF THE DAY
AS THE SAND MOVES
I dont know if its the pleasure of watching this evolve or the sweet tones of Louis Armstrong, but there is something very peaceful about this fleeting artwork.
NOT CALLED A HEART STARTER FOR NOTHING!
One sip and its gone - but the thrill of this landing before you instead just thinking of a caffine hit has to give you and extra skip in your coffee!
TRY KICKING THIS SANCASTLE OVER
I first discovered the sheer brilliance of Sand Sculpture on a holiday in Byron Bay. It was like busking on sand, you put a coin in if you liked their work. Now it is held all over the world in organised events with entry fees and competitions. I'm fascinatied at their skill, patience and gypsy lifestyle as most artist travel the world living by the sand and sea culture for their art. Pretty nice lifestyle.

TIP OF THE DAY
LIGHTS AS ART
Led's are low energy, flexible and can be fitted in almost any situation. How they are applied are limited to your imagination. And boy what and imagination these guys have!
PAINTING WITH NO MESS!!
The perfect graffiti art at home and no one gets in trouble.
PERFORMANCE ART
As an artist I take my time in the creative process and ponder over each brush stroke. It can take me weeks and even months to finish a painting. I envy artists such as Michael Potts, who can do it in under an hour. The true original of this performance art though was our very own Australian,Rolf Harris in the 70's. See him in action below.
THE ORIGINAL PERFORMANCE ARTIST
I used to watch Rolf Harris in amazement how he could sing, talk and paint at the same time

TIP OF THE DAY
SHOE FETISH
As fashion designer, Vivian Chan Shaw sits amongst her shoes, lovingly displayed for the camera on her stairs- I bet she wishes she could just open the stairs and not have to put them back in a stack of boxes sitting on the too high shelf in her wardrobe

A HELICOPTER TO MATCH PLEASE
The Hull 6154 is 438ft long, has 60 staff to run it, 15 state rooms, 5 jet ski's and two speed boats. At a price tag of 140 milion pounds, I will have to wait for my stocks to rise again. Damn, and I was so close!
LUXURY RETREAT
Mali Mali -For $950 a night at the foot of the Daintree Forest this is one to consider for the Honeymoon
DREAM ON
House of the year, 2007-2008 up for sale. On the Gold Coast, the architect was apparently inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Known for his streams and building within the landscape, this 40m infinity pool, which by the way wraps around the house is a perfect reflection of the coastal lifestyle. I wish.....
DONT GET TO RICH, IT MEANS THERE IS A LOT TO LOOSE
Well Australians dont make the rich list often but Rupert Murdoch is up there as the most expensive divorce. In 1999 when he divorced his longtime wife, Anna received over 1.2 billion in assets. Hmmm there's still time Heather!

TIP OF THE DAY
Florence Broadhurst a flambouyant figure in Australian Interior history, was noted for her hand printed wallpapers, over-the-top dressing style and her brutal and mysterious death. Florences' archive was given a re-birth when her designs were aquired by Signature Prints in Sydney. Her designs became international when Signature Prints wallpapers and carpets were selected for Madame Jo Jo's nightclub in Londonn
BOLD AS YOU GO
These large format designs by Eiffinger mean minimal spend on furniture and decoration to give maximum impact. If you are wanting drama and central focus, such as these make sure you keep the rest of the room simple so the features dont 'fight' each other
